Born in New Delhi, filmmaker and photographer, Puneet Rakheja began his career in advertising and broadcast design and completed his second graduation in Film from Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles gaining experience while writing, directing and producing work for several award winning advertising films. He worked with Believe Media and renowned directors like Floria Sigismondi, Paul Street, Jorn Haagen among others. Puneet moved to Hong Kong, where he worked as the Worldwide Media Director for a multinational producing content to market the companies language training programs. In a return to explore his fascination with India, Puneet solo travelled across India for a year, photographing and documenting his experiences of travel in a published photo series “Somewhere Between The Lines”.

Puneet since has been living and working in Mumbai and Delhi, directing advertising films and developing his feature projects . Recently, script for an adaptation of She Will Build Him a City was shortlisted for the Sundance labs.

Puneet is a TED Fellow and has won several awards for his commercials including Addy’s, the AICP. He also maintains a blog about Title Graphics in Indian Films – Taking Credit which he plans to develop into a documentary. He has conducted workshops for Lomography, Navdanya and was invited to speak at TEDxICB, TEDxBITS
